Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 16 oz powdered sugar (1 pound, about 3.5-4 cups)
- 1-2 tbsp milk or heavy whipping cream (optional, up to 1/4 cup)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Cream the Butter: Beat the softened butter for 4-5 minutes until pale yellow.
- Add Powdered Sugar and Vanilla: Gradually mix in powdered sugar and vanilla on low speed for about a minute.
- Fluff It Up: Increase speed to medium and mix for 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Check Consistency: Adjust thickness by adding milk or heavy cream as needed.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze for up to three months. Thaw in the refrigerator and re-whip before use.
