Description

A fluffy and moist banana bread filled with rich semi-sweet chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3-4 medium bananas)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use very ripe bananas. This banana bread also freezes well for up to 3 months.
