Description

A decadent breakfast treat of stuffed French toast filled with cream cheese and strawberries, perfect for special occasions or lazy weekends.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Butter (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Mix the softened cream cheese and sliced strawberries until well combined.
  2. Spread the strawberry cream cheese mixture between two slices of bread to create a sandwich.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until smooth.
  4. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are thoroughly coated.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a generous pat of butter, allowing it to melt.
  6. Cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve warm, drizzled with maple syrup.

Notes

For a richer taste, use brioche or challah bread instead of regular sandwich bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
