Description

A delightful homemade strawberry sauce that elevates pancakes, desserts, and more with its vibrant flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • ⅓ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice (fresh is best)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a medium pot, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well to coat the strawberries evenly.
  2. Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring regularly to prevent sticking.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and let it simmer, stirring occasionally for about 20 to 23 minutes, until desired thickness is reached.
  4. Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool to room temperature. It will thicken as it cools.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Can be frozen, but leave space in the container as liquids expand when frozen.
