A delightful appetizer combining fresh strawberries, creamy ricotta, and crispy baguette slices for a refreshing summer treat.
Ingredients
- 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk preferred)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, finely sliced (for garnish)
- Balsamic glaze, to drizzle on top
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush each with olive oil.
- Bake for 6-8 minutes until the slices are golden and crisp. Let them cool slightly.
- Combine the ricotta cheese with salt, pepper, and optional honey in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Wash and chop the strawberries into small pieces and set them aside.
- Spread the ricotta mixture generously onto each toasted baguette slice.
- Top with the chopped strawberries and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
Best served fresh. If leftovers remain, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
