Description

A delightful appetizer combining fresh strawberries, creamy ricotta, and crispy baguette slices for a refreshing summer treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk preferred)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, finely sliced (for garnish)
  • Balsamic glaze, to drizzle on top


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush each with olive oil.
  3. Bake for 6-8 minutes until the slices are golden and crisp. Let them cool slightly.
  4. Combine the ricotta cheese with salt, pepper, and optional honey in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  5. Wash and chop the strawberries into small pieces and set them aside.
  6. Spread the ricotta mixture generously onto each toasted baguette slice.
  7. Top with the chopped strawberries and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Best served fresh. If leftovers remain, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
