Description

A creamy and lush Strawberry Custard Delight Cake that is perfect for any gathering, showcasing the joy of fresh strawberries and silky custard.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (for the cake)
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 cup Sugar (for Custard)
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 4 large Egg Yolks
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour your cake pans to avoid sticking.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set this aside.
  3. Cream the butter and granulated sugar until you achieve a light and fluffy texture.
  4. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients with the butter mixture, alternating with the milk to create a smooth batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans, spreading it evenly, and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. While the cake cools, prepare the custard: In a saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks.
  8. Slowly stir in the milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
  9. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before incorporating fresh strawberries.
  10. Once the cake layers have cooled, spread the custard between them, garnishing with additional strawberries on top.
  11. Chill the cake before serving for the best flavor and texture.
