Ingredients
- 5 croissants, torn into 1-inch pieces
- 1.75 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp finely grated lemon zest
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 3 tbsp cream
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Beat the cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, lemon zest, and cinnamon to the cream cheese, and whisk until fully combined.
- Fold in the croissant pieces and mixed berries, ensuring they are well-coated with the custard mixture.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and let it sit for a few minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown and set.
- Prepare the topping while baking by whisking the powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla bean paste together until smooth.
- Allow the casserole to cool slightly before serving, and then drizzle with the sweet cream.
