Description

A crispy, juicy chicken sandwich that captures the essence of comfort food, great for weeknight dinners or backyard gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 brioche buns
  • Spicy mayo (mayonnaise mixed with hot sauce)
  • Pickles

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour (overnight is best).
  2. Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat, enough to submerge the chicken.
  4. Coat chicken in the flour mixture once marinated.
  5. Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
  6. Toast brioche buns until golden.
  7. Assemble the sandwich by spreading spicy mayo on the bottom bun, adding fried chicken and pickles, then topping with the top bun.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Store cooked chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
