Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 4 brioche buns
- Spicy mayo (mayonnaise mixed with hot sauce)
- Pickles
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour (overnight is best).
- Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat, enough to submerge the chicken.
- Coat chicken in the flour mixture once marinated.
- Fry the chicken in hot oil until golden brown, about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
- Toast brioche buns until golden.
- Assemble the sandwich by spreading spicy mayo on the bottom bun, adding fried chicken and pickles, then topping with the top bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
Store cooked chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
