Description

A delicious and easy breakfast casserole that combines the classic flavors of French toast with the convenience of baking.

Ingredients

  • 12 slices of bread (your favorite kind)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Butter for greasing the baking dish
  • Optional toppings: powdered sugar, maple syrup, fresh fruit

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter.
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and spread them evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until combined and fluffy.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring every piece is soaked.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and let it sit for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight for optimal flavor.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, removing the foil for the last 10 minutes to achieve a beautiful golden top.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy with powdered sugar, maple syrup, or fresh fruit for a delicious finish.
