Description

A quick and flavorful pasta dish combining shrimp, Old Bay seasoning, and garlic for a delightful weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a pot of salted water until al dente. Save about ½ cup of pasta water before draining and setting the pasta aside.
  2. Toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, salt, and olive oil in a mixing bowl until well-coated.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and sear for 1–2 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Lower the heat to medium and add the butter and minced garlic to the same skillet. Cook for about 1–2 minutes, stirring until fragrant.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice, zest, red pepper flakes (if using), and the remaining ½ tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, along with the reserved pasta water.
  6. Add the cooked pasta and shrimp to the skillet. Toss everything together until well-coated and heated through.
  7. Serve piping hot, garnished with chopped parsley, a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, and additional lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcooking the shrimp and adjust seasonings to taste. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days.
