Description
A delightful celebration of flavors with layers of rich chocolate, fresh strawberry, and smooth vanilla in one beautiful dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup strawberry puree or crushed strawberries
- 1 cup vanilla frosting
- 1 cup chocolate frosting
- Fresh strawberries and chocolate shavings for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Add in the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Beat on medium speed until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.
- Divide the batter evenly into three bowls:
- Keep one bowl as is for the chocolate layer,
- Blend strawberry puree into the second bowl for the strawberry layer,
- Mix cocoa powder into the third for an extra chocolate layer.
- Pour each batter into the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in their pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to wire racks for complete cooling.
- Once cooled, frost each layer with its respective frosting: chocolate for the chocolate layer, vanilla for the vanilla layer, and strawberry for the strawberry layer.
- Stack the layers together and decorate the top with fresh strawberries and chocolate shavings.
- Slice and serve!
Notes
Add whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra creaminess. A drizzle of chocolate sauce can enhance the presentation and flavor.
