Description
A delightful fusion of perfectly cooked noodles and tender ground beef in a savory, slightly sweet sauce, ideal for busy weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- 10 oz linguine
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the minced garlic into the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix well.
- In a small bowl, create a slurry by combining the cornstarch and water. Pour this mixture into the skillet and stir. Allow the sauce to thicken for about 2-3 minutes.
- Once thickened, add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat the noodles in the sauce.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, sear the ground beef until browned and don’t skip the sauce thickening step for a glossy finish.
