Description

A delightful fusion of perfectly cooked noodles and tender ground beef in a savory, slightly sweet sauce, ideal for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the minced garlic into the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Mix well.
  5. In a small bowl, create a slurry by combining the cornstarch and water. Pour this mixture into the skillet and stir. Allow the sauce to thicken for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Once thickened, add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss to coat the noodles in the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, sear the ground beef until browned and don’t skip the sauce thickening step for a glossy finish.
