Description

A comforting classic meatloaf drizzled with a sweet and tangy brown sugar glaze, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until everything is well-incorporated.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. For the glaze, mix the brown sugar, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan. Heat gently, stirring occasionally, until smooth.
  6. Spoon half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
  8. After 40 minutes, spread the remaining glaze on top and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the meatloaf’s internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  9. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For added moisture, consider adding a splash more milk or an extra egg. Mix in some herbs for a more robust flavor.
