A comforting classic meatloaf drizzled with a sweet and tangy brown sugar glaze, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for glaze)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, milk, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until everything is well-incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan or on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- For the glaze, mix the brown sugar, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan. Heat gently, stirring occasionally, until smooth.
- Spoon half of the glaze over the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.
- After 40 minutes, spread the remaining glaze on top and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes, or until the meatloaf’s internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added moisture, consider adding a splash more milk or an extra egg. Mix in some herbs for a more robust flavor.
