Description
A delightful shrimp dish infused with garlic and Parmesan, enveloped in a rich, creamy sauce perfect for special occasions or elevating your weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat for about 1-2 minutes until it shimmers.
- Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant and slightly golden.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet; cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and opaque. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring well to combine and scraping the bottom of the skillet to get all those tasty bits.
- Lower the heat and add the grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. Stir continuously until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
- Once the sauce reaches a creamy consistency, remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately!
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute shrimp with chicken or tofu. Feel free to add sun-dried tomatoes or replace Parmesan with feta cheese for a twist.
