Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour your cake pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until everything is well blended.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into your wet mixture, combining just until you see no dry flour.
- Pour the batter into your prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Once baked, allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Whip together the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Layer the cooled cake with sliced strawberries and the whipped cream for serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute heavy whipping cream with coconut cream. Feel free to use different berries for a variation.
