Quick and nutritious homemade protein bars that are perfect for a snack or post-workout recovery.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups peanut butter (or almond butter)
- 3/4 cup protein powder (approximately 90g)
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or honey
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 oz melted chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine peanut butter, protein powder, maple syrup, and salt until a dough forms. If too dry, add a teaspoon of water or sweetener.
- Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in 2 teaspoons of oil for a smoother consistency if desired.
- Shape the mixture into bars or press into a lined 8×8 pan.
- If using chocolate, spread it over the mixture or dip individual bars into the melted chocolate.
- Refrigerate until firm, then slice into bars.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze individually wrapped for long-term storage.
