Ingredients
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Ice water (as needed)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheese and softened butter. Mix until well blended and creamy.
- Add in the flour, salt, and any spices you choose to use. Stir until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water, mixing until a smooth yet not sticky dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough into small squares. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, watching closely until they turn golden and crispy.
- Allow them to cool before diving in!
