A comforting and hearty meatloaf recipe with a sweet-and-savory glaze that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until just mixed.
- Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape on the baking sheet or press it into the greased loaf pan.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread half of this glaze over the top of the formed meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then brush the remaining glaze over the top and return to the oven for another 15-20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm, paired with creamy mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to three months. Thaw and reheat to enjoy.
