Description

A comforting and hearty meatloaf recipe with a sweet-and-savory glaze that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until just mixed.
  3. Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape on the baking sheet or press it into the greased loaf pan.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread half of this glaze over the top of the formed meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes, then brush the remaining glaze over the top and return to the oven for another 15-20 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Allow the meatloaf to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve warm, paired with creamy mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.

Notes
