Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup mini chocolate eggs (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a large bowl, then mix in the sugar until thoroughly combined.
- Add each egg one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until everything is combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, taking care to maintain some of their shape.
- Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each for spreading.
- Press the mini chocolate eggs into the top of each cookie before baking.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cookies are set around the edges.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra fudginess, chill the dough before baking. Feel free to substitute with dark chocolate or dairy-free butter.
