Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Place the chicken breasts into the crockpot and pour the honey garlic mixture over the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and tender.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir it into the crockpot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
- Once done, shred the chicken if desired, and serve it over rice, garnished with chopped green onions for added freshness.
Notes
For variations, consider using maple syrup instead of honey or adding vegetables during cooking.
