Ingredients
- 1 loaf of bread (French or brioche)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Powdered sugar (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cut the bread into cubes and layer half in the prepared dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the blueberries. Spoon this mixture over the bread cubes.
- Layer the rest of the bread cubes on top.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Pour this mixture evenly over the layered bread.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate for at least one hour, or overnight if you have time.
- Bake, covered, for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden and set.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar.
