Description

A delightful breakfast casserole made with buttery croissants, eggs, cheese, and optional meat, perfect for brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 croissants, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (your choice)
  • 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon or sausage
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  3. Tear the croissants into small pieces and distribute them evenly in the dish.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Stir in the shredded cheese along with the cooked bacon or sausage until well combined.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the croissant pieces, ensuring they are all well coated.
  7. Allow the casserole to sit for 15 minutes to let the croissants absorb the egg mixture.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the mixture is set.

Notes

Use day-old croissants for better absorption; feel free to experiment with different cheeses, meats, or add vegetables.
