Description

Crispy, flavorful shrimp drizzled with a creamy, spicy sauce, perfect for entertaining or a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tsp Sriracha sauce
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dredge the shrimp in the flour mixture, allowing excess to fall off.
  5. Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha.
  7. Toss the cooked shrimp in the sauce until well-coated.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

For milder sauce, swap Sriracha with a less spicy option. Make sure oil is hot enough for best frying results.
