Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp Sriracha sauce
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Soak the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge the shrimp in the flour mixture, allowing excess to fall off.
- Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha.
- Toss the cooked shrimp in the sauce until well-coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
For milder sauce, swap Sriracha with a less spicy option. Make sure oil is hot enough for best frying results.
