Description
A delicious fusion of spicy shrimp and creamy sauce served over pasta, ideal for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy dinner at home.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ cup cornstarch (for dredging the shrimp)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying the shrimp)
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
- 1-2 tablespoons Sriracha (for heat preference)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced (for tossing with pasta)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
Instructions
- Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Coat in cornstarch.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Fry the shrimp until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Set aside.
- Boil your pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic. Taste and adjust seasoning.
- In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic in olive oil. Add the drained pasta and enough reserved pasta water to create a light sauce.
- Add the crispy shrimp to the pasta, and pour in the Bang Bang sauce. Toss to combine.
- Plate your dish with grated Parmesan cheese and green onions, adding red pepper flakes for extra heat if desired.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, swap shrimp for crispy tofu, or for a gluten-free dish, use gluten-free pasta and cornstarch.
