Description

A delicious fusion of spicy shrimp and creamy sauce served over pasta, ideal for impressing guests or enjoying a cozy dinner at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup cornstarch (for dredging the shrimp)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying the shrimp)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons Sriracha (for heat preference)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced (for tossing with pasta)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Coat in cornstarch.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Fry the shrimp until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Set aside.
  3. Boil your pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic in olive oil. Add the drained pasta and enough reserved pasta water to create a light sauce.
  6. Add the crispy shrimp to the pasta, and pour in the Bang Bang sauce. Toss to combine.
  7. Plate your dish with grated Parmesan cheese and green onions, adding red pepper flakes for extra heat if desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, swap shrimp for crispy tofu, or for a gluten-free dish, use gluten-free pasta and cornstarch.
