Description

A warm, bubbling apple crisp with a crunchy oat topping that’s simple enough for weeknights and perfect for cozy family meals.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced apples (about 45 medium apples)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Combine the rolled oats, flour, and brown sugar in a separate bowl.
  5. Pour in the melted butter and stir until coarse crumbs form.
  6. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples, covering them completely.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with ice cream or Greek yogurt. For optimal texture, slice apples about 1/4-inch thick and drain excess juices before baking.
