Description

Quick and chewy protein-packed bagels made in an air fryer, perfect for busy mornings and meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4% preferred)
  • 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
  • Toppings: everything seasoning, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, or coarse salt

Instructions

  1. Combine dry ingredients in a bowl: whisk together flour and baking powder, adding salt if desired.
  2. Add cottage cheese into the flour mixture and mix until a chunky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface briefly until it becomes semi-smooth.
  4. Shape the dough into four rings and roll them to about 6–7 inches in length.
  5. Brush the bagels with an egg wash and add your desired toppings.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 300°F and prepare the basket.
  7. Air-fry bagels in a single layer for 15–17 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool the bagels on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For denser flavor, use whole-milk cottage cheese. You can also replace cottage cheese with full-fat Greek yogurt if necessary.
