Description

Transform firm tofu into a golden, crispy delight that’s perfect for quick meals or laid-back brunches.

Ingredients

  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and placing a weight on top for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Once pressed, slice the tofu into cubes or your preferred shape.
  3. Toss the tofu with soy sauce and marinate for 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu and toss until evenly coated.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Add the tofu to the pan and cook, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy (5-7 minutes).
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce. Experiment with different marinades for variety.
