Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend preferred)
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade mix)
- 1 cup medium salsa
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
- 3 cups large scoop-style tortilla chips
- ½ cup sour cream (for topping)
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, roughly chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, draining excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning and salsa; let it simmer for 2 minutes.
- In a 9×13 baking dish, layer half of the tortilla chips.
- Add half of the beef mixture followed by 1 cup of shredded cheese.
- Repeat with the remaining tortilla chips, beef mixture, and top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes, then top with sour cream and chopped cilantro before serving.
