Description

A nostalgic summer dessert made with tender biscuits, sweet strawberries, and fluffy whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for strawberries)
  • Whipped cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Cut in the cold, diced butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream gently until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead it gently a few times, and roll it out to about 1-inch thick.
  6. Cut the dough into round shapes and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. In a bowl, mix the sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let them sit for 10 minutes.
  9. To serve, slice the biscuits in half, layer with strawberries, and top with whipped cream.

Notes

Use very cold butter for the biscuits to achieve a flaky texture. Allow strawberries to rest for better flavor.
