Description

Hearty and flavorful Sloppy Joes made effortlessly in a slow cooker, perfect for busy weeknights and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 6 slices yellow cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large pan over medium-high heat, heat the vegetable oil.
  2. Add the ground beef, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  3. Transfer the browned beef to your slow cooker and combine it with the remaining ingredients.
  4. Stir everything well to mix, ensuring the meat is coated with sauce.
  5. Cook on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 6 hours, allowing the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve the meat mixture on hamburger buns and top with a slice of cheese for an indulgent finish.

Notes

Feel free to substitute turkey or plant-based meat for a healthier version. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
