Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
- 1 cup salsa
- 1 cup queso cheese
- 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
- Tortillas (flour or corn)
- Toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, avocado, etc.
Instructions
- Place chicken in the slow cooker.
- Pour the salsa over the chicken, ensuring it’s well-covered.
- Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the top.
- Cover the slow cooker and set to low (6-8 hours) or high (3-4 hours).
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the queso cheese and stir to combine.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and mix well.
- Serve in tortillas, topped with your favorite garnishes.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. You can freeze the shredded chicken mixture for longer storage, up to 3 months.
