Description

A moist and flavorful banana bread recipe, perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 medium ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs, followed by the mashed bananas until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. If using, gently fold in the pecans to the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  9. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract or a sprinkle of nutmeg. Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
