Description

A tender and juicy oven-baked chicken breast recipe that’s perfect for weeknight dinners and meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter (diced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness of about 0.5 to 0.75 inches.
  3. Rub olive oil over the pounded chicken to ensure the spices stick.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  5. Coat the chicken evenly with the seasoning mixture, ensuring each piece is well covered.
  6. Arrange the seasoned chicken in the casserole dish and top each piece with a slice of diced butter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. For an extra touch, broil the chicken for an additional 1-3 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after baking to retain juices. For an added flavor boost, drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
