Description

A delightful pizza experience with creamy ricotta, sweet honey, and fresh basil, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade), enough for one 12–14″ pizza
  • 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil leaves, for finishing
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, ensure it’s in the oven while it heats up.
  2. Lightly flour your surface and roll or stretch the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a floured peel or parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2 to 1-inch border for the crust. Drizzle honey generously over the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  6. Once done, remove from the oven, scatter fresh basil leaves on top, and finish with grated Parmesan. Let it rest for 2 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For more spice, add extra red pepper flakes or drizzle with chili oil. This pizza also pairs well with light salads or craft beer.
