Description
A delightful pizza experience with creamy ricotta, sweet honey, and fresh basil, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade), enough for one 12–14″ pizza
- 1 cup whole-milk ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Fresh basil leaves, for finishing
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, ensure it’s in the oven while it heats up.
- Lightly flour your surface and roll or stretch the pizza dough to your desired thickness. Transfer it to a floured peel or parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, olive oil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
- Spread the ricotta mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2 to 1-inch border for the crust. Drizzle honey generously over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Once done, remove from the oven, scatter fresh basil leaves on top, and finish with grated Parmesan. Let it rest for 2 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For more spice, add extra red pepper flakes or drizzle with chili oil. This pizza also pairs well with light salads or craft beer.
