Description

Warm, buttery sliders made with Hawaiian rolls, deli ham, and Swiss cheese, topped with a savory mustard-poppy seed glaze.

Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 slices deli ham (about 812 oz)
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in one motion so the slab stays together. Place the bottom half in the prepared dish.
  3. Layer the ham evenly across the bottom halves, then place the Swiss slices on top of the ham, overlapping slightly.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and a pinch each of salt and pepper until smooth.
  5. Pour or brush the butter mixture over the assembled ham and cheese, letting it soak in.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the buttered layer. Cover the dish tightly with foil.
  7. Bake covered for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  8. Let rest for 2–3 minutes, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Use a serrated knife for neat portions. You can make these ahead and refrigerate for up to 8 hours before baking.
