Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well-combined.
- Cut in the cold cubed butter using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the milk and gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix!
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Fold it gently a few times and roll it out to about 1-inch thick.
- Cut biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until they are golden on top. Brush the tops with melted butter if desired.
Notes
Store biscuits in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for up to 3 months and reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 10 minutes.
