Ingredients
- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 4 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Place the beef chuck roast into your slow cooker.
- Layer the sliced onions and minced garlic evenly on top of the beef.
- In a bowl, combine beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the beef, covering it thoroughly.
- Cover the slow cooker and set to cook on low for approximately 480 minutes (8 hours), or until the beef is tender.
- Shred the beef using two forks and stir it back into the juices for flavor enhancement.
- Serve portions of beef onto hoagie rolls and top with provolone cheese.
- Dip sandwiches into the au jus before serving.
