Description

Tender, juicy beef paired with melty provolone on a soft hoagie roll, perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Place the beef chuck roast into your slow cooker.
  2. Layer the sliced onions and minced garlic evenly on top of the beef.
  3. In a bowl, combine beef broth, water, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour the mixture over the beef, covering it thoroughly.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and set to cook on low for approximately 8 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  6. Shred the beef using two forks and stir it back into the juices for flavor enhancement.
  7. Serve portions of beef onto hoagie rolls and top with provolone cheese.
  8. Dip sandwiches into the au jus before serving.

Notes

For deeper flavor, sear the beef before adding to the slow cooker. Store leftover sandwiches properly to ensure freshness.
