Description
Crispy and sticky honey garlic chicken is a quick weeknight favorite, blending sweet and savory flavors with a delightful glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Lime wedges (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet in a single layer and cook for about 5–7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and stir to coat evenly.
- Let the sauce simmer with the chicken for 1–3 minutes until thickened. Add water if the sauce becomes too thick.
- Remove from heat, garnish with sesame seeds and lime, and serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
For gluten-free, use tamari or gluten-free soy sauce. Dark meat works well; reduce cooking time slightly for bone-in pieces. Cornstarch can be swapped for arrowroot for a clearer sauce.
