Description

A flavorful explosion with juicy chicken in a crispy coating, tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce – perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast, shredded
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for frying
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chilli sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Spring onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, season the shredded chicken with salt and pepper, mixing well to ensure every piece is coated.
  2. Dredge the seasoned chicken in cornstarch until well coated, shaking off any excess.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the coated chicken and fry until golden brown and crispy, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, in another pan, combine soy sauce, chilli sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Stir on low heat until mixed and fragrant.
  5. Once the chicken is fried, carefully add it to the sauce. Toss to ensure that every piece is well coated.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped spring onions for an extra crunch and fresh flavor.

Notes

Feel free to swap the chilli sauce for a milder version. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
