These creamy Swedish meatballs are a delightful blend of tender beef and pork, simmered in a rich sauce, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, milk, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully combined.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a skillet, heat the butter over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the beef broth, heavy cream, soy sauce, and flour. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Return the browned meatballs to the skillet and let them simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes, or until fully cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken. To enhance flavor, sauté the onions before adding them to the meat mixture.
