Description
A vibrant and creamy dish combining shrimp and pasta with zesty jerk seasoning and colorful bell peppers.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces pasta (fettuccine works beautifully)
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 bell pepper, sliced (red, yellow, or green)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp along with the jerk seasoning. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through.
- Toss in the sliced bell peppers and minced garlic. Sauté for another couple of minutes until the peppers are tender.
- Pour the heavy cream and chicken broth into the skillet, stirring to combine. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add the cooked pasta into the skillet and toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is well-coated with the creamy sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
Allow the shrimp to marinate in the jerk seasoning for more flavor. Use chicken or vegetables for alternatives.
