Description

A vibrant and creamy dish combining shrimp and pasta with zesty jerk seasoning and colorful bell peppers.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces pasta (fettuccine works beautifully)
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced (red, yellow, or green)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp along with the jerk seasoning. Cook for 3-5 minutes or until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through.
  3. Toss in the sliced bell peppers and minced garlic. Sauté for another couple of minutes until the peppers are tender.
  4. Pour the heavy cream and chicken broth into the skillet, stirring to combine. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Add the cooked pasta into the skillet and toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is well-coated with the creamy sauce.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to your taste.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Allow the shrimp to marinate in the jerk seasoning for more flavor. Use chicken or vegetables for alternatives.
