Description

A comforting and quick pasta dish featuring penne, lean ground beef, and a rich creamy sauce that’s perfect for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a pot, boil water and cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve about 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks until it’s browned, roughly 7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the reserved pasta water, stirring until your desired sauce consistency is reached.
  5. Mix in the grated Parmesan until it melts and creates a creamy sauce.
  6. Toss the cooked pasta in the skillet with the sauce, ensuring every piece is coated.
  7. Plate the pasta hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Best served with a light green salad or crusty garlic bread. You can add extra herbs or red pepper flakes for added flavor.
