Description
Creamy Beef Pasta is a delicious and hearty dish with penne pasta, a velvety sauce made from heavy cream, lean ground beef, and Parmesan cheese. It’s the perfect comfort food for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Start by cooking the penne according to package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart as it cooks, ensuring it’s nicely browned in approximately 7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Create the Sauce: Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add reserved pasta water to achieve desired sauce consistency. Mix in the grated Parmesan until melted.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss the cooked penne in the skillet, ensuring every piece is coated in the creamy sauce.
- Serve and Enjoy: Dish it out hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or a sprinkle of fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months. When reheating, add a splash of milk or reserved pasta water for creaminess.
