Description

Creamy Beef Pasta is a delicious and hearty dish with penne pasta, a velvety sauce made from heavy cream, lean ground beef, and Parmesan cheese. It’s the perfect comfort food for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Start by cooking the penne according to package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  3. Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart as it cooks, ensuring it’s nicely browned in approximately 7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Create the Sauce: Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add reserved pasta water to achieve desired sauce consistency. Mix in the grated Parmesan until melted.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Toss the cooked penne in the skillet, ensuring every piece is coated in the creamy sauce.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Dish it out hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or a sprinkle of fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months. When reheating, add a splash of milk or reserved pasta water for creaminess.
