Description

A hearty and creamy baked ziti dish made effortlessly in a slow cooker, combining pasta, cheese, and marinara for ultimate comfort.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. If using meat, brown the ground beef or Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat, adding the minced garlic in the last minute. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, and cooked meat (if using).
  4. Pour half of this pasta mixture into the slow cooker. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top.
  5. Layer the remaining pasta mixture on top, followed by the leftover cheeses.
  6. Cover and set the slow cooker to low for 4-6 hours, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy the comforting goodness!

Notes

For a creamier texture, add an extra layer of ricotta cheese on top before adding the cheese layer. You can also add sautéed vegetables for more flavor.
