Description
Delightful twist on traditional banana bread with rich chocolate flavor.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- A pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For variations, try adding nuts or spices, or substitute half of the sugar with brown sugar.
