Description

A delightful and comforting dish featuring juicy chicken breasts smothered in marinara sauce and topped with melted mozzarella and parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1.5 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and position the rack in the middle.
  2. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the chicken for 5 minutes on each side until golden.
  4. Transfer the seared chicken into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
  5. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  6. Sprinkle parmesan cheese over each chicken breast, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes (or 15 if using smaller chicken breasts).
  8. Broil for a few minutes until the cheese is lightly browned.
  9. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to lock in the juices.

Notes

Serve alongside a fresh green salad or over pasta. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or 3 months in the freezer.
