Ingredients
- 4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1.5 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and position the rack in the middle.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the chicken for 5 minutes on each side until golden.
- Transfer the seared chicken into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
- Pour marinara sauce over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese over each chicken breast, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes (or 15 if using smaller chicken breasts).
- Broil for a few minutes until the cheese is lightly browned.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving to lock in the juices.
Notes
Serve alongside a fresh green salad or over pasta. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or 3 months in the freezer.
