Description

Warm, cheesy, and easy to make, this Cheddar Quick Bread is perfect as a comforting side for soups or a delicious breakfast toast.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 1 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (cooled)
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder until evenly mixed.
  3. Stir in the shredded cheddar, coating it with the dry mix.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  6. Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 5–10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool slightly before slicing.

Notes

Best served warm with butter. It can also be paired with soups, salads, or as a sandwich base.
