Description

A delightful twist on the classic Italian Alfredo sauce with a kick of Cajun flavor, perfect for pasta lovers.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Cooked pasta of your choice (fettuccine, penne, linguine, or shells)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook your pasta according to package instructions and reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water before draining.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until foamy but not browned.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute without allowing it to brown.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and gently bring it to a simmer, avoiding a boil.
  5. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth. If too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
  7. Toss the hot cooked pasta with the sauce until well coated and serve immediately.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with a plant-based cream.
